About the game

Why Memory Maze has no ads and does not sell coins

A design decision, not a temporary state: coins are earned only through play, and outfits change nothing about what your character can do.

Memory Maze shows no advertising, sells no coins and sells no items for real money. That was decided at the outset. It is not a temporary state awaiting monetisation later.

The reasoning

This game rewards exactly one thing: memory. You win because you learned the maze, not because you bought something. Any mechanic that lets a player pay to move faster, see further or get more time destroys the very thing the game is about.

So:

  • Outfits are purely cosmetic. The six outfits change appearance only. They do not affect movement speed, time, visibility or coin collection. A player in the default outfit is exactly as capable as one wearing the 270-coin set.
  • Coins are earned only by playing. Picked up inside mazes, 6 coins the first time you earn 3 stars, 10 coins the first time you complete a level.
  • Energy is never sold. (Updated 16 September 2026: the game has since added a free energy system — 10 points, 1 point back every 15 minutes, refills bought with coins. The promise stands: energy is never sold for real money and there are no ads to refill it. Details in the September update.)
  • There are no loot boxes. No spin wheels, no random chests, no premium currency. Every coin sits at a fixed position within its maze.

What this means for younger players

No advertising means no third-party content finding its way into the game. No real-money transactions means no risk of a child spending money without an adult intending it. These are two of the five grounds on which the game is rated 00+ — the full set is on the Legal compliance page.

The commitment

All of the above is written into section 5 of the Terms of Use. Should any of it ever change, the amendment must be published on this News page at least 7 days before it takes effect, so players always know in advance.
