Updates and adventures from Memory Maze!
The first three stages in Hanoi, a free energy system, daily quests, an anonymous leaderboard, the memory passport and an English interface — everything that is in the game as of today.
Read more →A design decision, not a temporary state: coins are earned only through play, and outfits change nothing about what your character can do.

Each stage is tied to a real landmark in Vietnam and unlocks in order: clear one to open the next. Cleared stages can be replayed as often as you like; every entry into a maze uses one point of energy (see Virtual items).
The game shows the maze from above. On the first two stages the shortest route is highlighted; from the third stage on you get the map only and find the route yourself. The timer is not running yet, and you can skip the preview without any penalty.
Controls stay locked until “GO” appears. The timer starts at exactly that moment.
Move with the virtual stick on the left and swipe on the right to turn the camera; a compass strip at the top shows which way you are facing. Coins are scattered along the way. You may re-open the map twice per run, 5 seconds each time; while it is open, the timer and the whole game freeze.
Reach the exit in time to win: your character celebrates, a landmark card appears for 3 seconds with a fact about the place you just crossed, then the result panel awards one to three stars and adds every coin you picked up to your wallet. Run out of time and the run is lost, the coins from that attempt are discarded, and you can retry immediately on the very same maze.
If you are giving input but the character has barely moved for 5 seconds, the game offers “Take me back to the entrance”. Using it caps the run at one star.
Every stage of the journey is a real place. The first release starts in Hanoi with three stages: Hoan Kiem Lake, the Hanoi Flag Tower and West Lake. Clearing a stage shows you a fact about that place and stamps it into your memory passport. Further landmarks arrive as content packs downloaded inside the game, extending the journey without an app update.
Mazes are not generated freely at run time. Each stage draws from a fixed set of mazes vetted in advance for difficulty and solvability, guaranteeing that a path from entrance to exit always exists. Replaying a cleared stage gives you another maze from the same set; failing and retrying keeps the maze unchanged.
| Stage | Maze size | Time limit | Mazes | Coins per maze | What it teaches |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hoan Kiem Lake · Hanoi | 4 × 4 cells | 30 seconds | 8 | 8 | The controls; the route is highlighted on the map |
| Hanoi Flag Tower · Hanoi | 5 × 5 cells | 35 seconds | 10 | 12 | Real junctions; the route is still highlighted |
| West Lake · Hanoi | 7 × 7 cells | 50 seconds | 12 | 18 | Map only, find the route yourself; mazes with light loops |
The interface is available in Vietnamese and English, switchable inside the game. The art is paper-cut in style, brightly coloured, with nothing frightening or violent.
MORE ABOUT MEMORY MAZE
About the game
Memory Maze drops you into a maze rendered in 3D, seen from behind your character. The walls stand twice your height, so from inside a corridor the exit is never visible. The only things that get you out are your memory of the map you saw at the start and the decisions you make at each junction.
Progress comes from actually learning a maze across attempts, not from being handed an easier one. That is why a maze stays exactly the same when you fail and retry — an unchanged maze is what makes learning possible.
Each attempt lasts 30–60 seconds, made for the small gaps in a day.
Spatial memory and quick decisions decide the outcome. Nothing is left to chance.
No violence, blood, weapons, horror, gambling or sensitive material of any kind.
Players interact only with the server. There is no chat and no trading between players.
Virtual items and currency
The game has a single virtual currency, coins, spent on outfits for your character and on energy refills. Coins can only be earned through play and cannot be bought with real money in any form.
Energy sets the pace of play: each account holds up to 10 points, every entry into a maze uses 1 point, and 1 point comes back every 15 minutes, entirely free. Energy is never sold for real money and there are no ads to refill it.
Outfits change nothing but appearance. Any effect on movement speed, time, visibility or coin collection is forbidden and is not implemented. A player in the default outfit and a player in the most expensive one are exactly as capable as each other.
| Outfit | Price (coins) |
|---|---|
| Default uniform | Owned |
| Áo bà ba | 25 |
| School white shirt | 50 |
| Áo dài | 90 |
| Soldier's uniform | 150 |
| Áo the khăn xếp | 270 |
Beyond the maze
Around the core run there are a few small features that give players a reason to come back each day and a way to look back on how far they have come. All of them involve only the player and the server.
Three small quests a day — “clear 3 stages”, “collect 15 coins”, “clear a stage without re-opening the map” — paying 8–12 coins each. Unfinished quests are kept for up to 3 days; completing them day after day builds a streak.
Each stage has a best-time board kept by the server. Players appear under an anonymous name; there are no public profiles, no friend lists and no messaging.
Every landmark you cross earns a stamp. Six badges mark the milestones: First Steps, Three Stars, Iron Memory, Explorer, Collector and Seven Days.
Separate sliders for sound effects, ambience and the wall-bump sound; vibration on or off; a reduced camera motion mode for players prone to motion sickness. Switch between Vietnamese and English inside the game.
On your first maze the game points things out step by step: memorise first, then walk; drag to move; swipe to look around; re-opening the map costs a star. No video, nothing long to read.
Losing the connection mid-run does not end the run; the result is sent to the server once you are back online. Abandoning a run returns its energy point.
Player accounts
Players sign in with an existing Google, Apple or Facebook account, then complete the player registration required by law: full name, date of birth and a Vietnamese mobile phone number, verified with a one-time code sent to that number. The game never asks you to set a separate password and never stores a password from any provider. Progress, stars and wallet balance live on the publisher's servers so that changing devices does not cost you your achievements.
One account can be linked to all three providers. When two accounts turn out to be the same person, the game shows a side-by-side comparison and lets the player decide — it never merges or overwrites on its own.
When creating an account, players enter their full name, date of birth and a Vietnamese mobile number, then confirm it with a one-time code. The date of birth is what lets the server apply the playtime limits for players under 18.
Players under 16 have their account registered by a parent or legal guardian using the guardian's own details; the guardian is responsible for supervising the child's playtime and content.
Players may request deletion of their account and all data attached to it. The request is carried out after a 7-day grace period, in case it was tapped by mistake.
Legal compliance
Memory Maze is provided in accordance with Vietnamese law on the management of online games, including Decree No. 147/2024/ND-CP.
